Spay and neuter surgery has many health benefits for your pet:
- For female dogs, spaying eliminates the risk of uterine infection (pyometra), uterine and ovarian cancer, and unwanted pregnancy. It also reduces the risk of mammary cancer.
- For male dogs, neutering eliminates the risk of testicular cancer, and reduces the risk of prostatic disease and perineal hernias. Spay and neuter surgery can also reduce the risk of your pet straying and can assist with some hormonally-motivated behavioral concerns.
