What is the process for Safe Haven?

The Safe Haven Program is designed to provide temporary care for pets whose owners are experiencing domestic violence. If you believe you may qualify for Safe Haven support, the first step is to contact our Pet Support team at 202-723-5730. 

Our team will speak with you confidentially to better understand your situation and determine whether the Safe Haven Program is the right fit and to guide you through the next steps. Domestic violence victims concerned about the safety of their animals can also have their service provider call the Humane Rescue Alliance 24/7 for help.
